A centerpiece of the community, once again.

The Eugene Hotel, originally opened on August 14, 1925, was a landmark in Monroe, WI. Known for its artistic room designs and cutting-edge amenities, it quickly became a cornerstone of the community. After closing in 1981, the hotel was purchased in 2011 by brothers Chris and Tyler Soukup, who saw potential in the historic property. The restoration project aims to reimagine the Eugene Hotel and once again make it a vibrant centerpiece of the community.

The new plans for the Eugene Hotel include 25 guest rooms, retaining current tenant spaces, and expanding Baumgartner’s footprint. An independent study projects that the hotel will generate $6.8 million in local economic benefits through sales and lodging taxes, restaurant revenue, and job creation. Projected opening in summer 2026.
